There’s something really special about photographing two families who vacation together year after year — especially when their friendship goes back decades. This family beach session brought together two longtime friends, now raising four incredible kids between them, all soaking in a gorgeous summer week at the Jersey Shore.

They were relaxed, full of laughter, and ready to let the kids be themselves — which always makes for the best kind of session. We had everything working in our favor: warm golden light, a quiet stretch of beach, and kids who weren’t afraid to kick off their shoes and run through the sand.

After the session, I received one of those notes that reminds me why I love what I do:
